WWE star Maryse bravely shared on Instagram that she’s facing a tough health challenge – a rare pre-cancer of the ovaries. Despite the diagnosis, she’s determined to fight it head-on.
Maryse revealed that she had been experiencing severe abdominal swelling and extreme fatigue. Despite seeing multiple doctors and undergoing tests, she struggled to get a clear diagnosis. But she didn’t give up. Eventually, she found a doctor in Los Angeles who truly listened to her concerns.
After undergoing surgery, Maryse received unexpected news: she didn’t have endometriosis as initially suspected. Instead, she was diagnosed with serous borderline tumors, a pre-cancerous condition. Although this type of tumor has a better prognosis if caught early, Maryse faces the challenge of surgery and long-term follow-up care.
To tackle this, Maryse will undergo a total hysterectomy, which involves removing her uterus, ovaries, fallopian tubes, cervix, and omentum, as well as abdominal lymph nodes. Despite the difficult road ahead, Maryse remains positive, especially for the sake of her two young daughters.
In her Instagram post, Maryse also emphasized the importance of advocating for one’s health and trusting instincts, breaking the stigma of women suffering in silence. She expressed gratitude for her doctor and received overwhelming support from her WWE colleagues, including Brie Bella, Sasha Banks, Charlotte Flair, Naomi, and Natalya.
Though Maryse hasn’t been in the WWE ring since the 2022 Royal Rumble, she continues to inspire with her resilience. Married to fellow WWE star The Miz since 2014, she’s not only a fighter in the ring but also in life’s toughest battles.
